PR Consultancy
If you are looking for advice about a new PR campaign, or you are frustrated by a lack of media coverage or even worried about a potential PR crisis, let me help you.
I’ll provide a sounding board, work with you to generate new PR ideas if your organisation is going through change, and provide PR mentor support to your internal communications team.
Presentation Skills Coaching
If you are a reluctant public speaker or presenter, or know that your talks have become weary, let’s have a chat.
After all, a presentation is a two-way conversation and you have those everyday.
The difference is in the control of the outcomes – and that is a very powerful reason for getting better when you’re on your feet.
Speech writing
Speech writing takes a great deal of planning and editing. If you don’t have time, let me help.
Whether you need a Chairman’s announcement, a CEO’s conference presentation or a Father-of-the-Bride ‘tear-jerker’ I’ll do the research and craft your words for you.
Event Design and Hosting
Over 25 years in business has given me enough experience and insight to appreciate a great event when I see one.
I can also spot those that are badly conceived, constructed and compered. Let me help you plan and deliver a great conference, convention, AGM or public gathering.
I’ll get involved from the start and add both creativity and common-sense so your event is focused, outcome-driven and above all enjoyable for your guests, for your speakers, and for you.
Businesswoman
Inspired by a post-grad year at Durham University Business School I got the small business bug at a time when very few could spell entrepreneurial.
My early career was as a business start-up counsellor, then SME policy adviser until I moved into public relations for a number of national business support organisations. With TV, writing and radio experience under my belt I founded Integra Communications with co-Director Andrew Third in 2001.
Seventeen successful and varied years on, I’m flying solo again.
By specialising in PR advice and mediation, I am putting my 25 years’ reputation-building experience to good use. As a former member of the Charter Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and with current membership of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), I maintain the highest professional standards and code of conduct.
Having delivered my first public speech aged 5 and understanding what it feels like to present to all manner of audiences, I’m offering speaker coaching and speech writing as well as event design and compering.
After-hours, I hangout in Nottingham’s coffee shops with my mentees; young entrepreneurs who know how to spell, and live, being entrepreneurial.
Charity campaigner
From Speakers’ Corner Trust to the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, it’s been a privilege to give time and expertise to some great organisations. I’ve run PR campaigns for Emmanuel House (Nottingham), for NG11 Food Bank and for gardens open under the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).
As a passionate volunteer for the Teso Development Trust (TDT), I travel to north east Uganda most years to help monitor the projects we are funding. My particular interests are in women’s enterprise, village savings and loans funds, and girls’ education.
I do get angry about quite a few injustices such as food poverty, but that spurs me on to do what I can. My epitaph will probably read: ‘Here lies a woman who thought she could change the World, but now knows better!’
I’ll let HM The Queen have the last word on the subject though as she saw fit to award me an MBE for services to enterprise and charity in 2016.
Little does she know I’ve barely begun.
Me
When I asked colleagues and friends to describe me by make and colour of motor vehicle as part of a 360 exercise with my mentor, I wasn’t expecting Eddie Stobart lorry!
Fortunately the respondent went on to explain. Louise is..‘in for the long haul, clear branding, classic, reliable, instantly recognisable and with strong ethical values’.
Personally I would have added large, noisy and occasionally in the way but I wasn’t allowed to. Instead, I’ve joined The Actors’ Workshop where I can be loud and noisy, and get away with it.
Any spare time is taken up with family and friends around the UK, Nordic Walking, tennis, theatre (bit of a Shakespeare fan) and gardening.
My Christian faith underpins who I am, and unshakably helped me get through treatment for breast cancer in 2013.
As PR and location coordinator for my home village of Gotham, Nottinghamshire, I’m looking forward to my first Batman assignment.
